Mill Pond Terrace Breaks Ground!

After approval early this year of the plan for the new multifunctional space known as Mill Pond Terrace, area contractors began breaking ground Monday, April 30. A major improvement for downtown Green Lake, the Mill Pond Terrace project will transform the underused parking lots to the north of Town Square Community Center into a valuable community asset, providing space for entrepreneurs, food trucks, events and public gatherings.

Mike Stagg (Stagg Builders), Dan Egbert (Egbert Excavating), Jennifer Hawley (Outdoor Impact), Clint Widlake (Grasee Electric), Bill Kinas (Kinas Excavating), and Steve Stahl (Stahl Plumbing) will work together to complete the first phase of the project by the end of the summer

The first phase of the Mill Pond Terrace project will focus on hardscape, highlighting the center circle overlook as the focal point, and includes excavation, construction of a retaining wall, and the addition of decorative concrete, gravel and electrical.

With over 175 people donating a total of $164,675, and area contractors generously giving their time and materials toward the project, Mill Pond Terrace builds on Green Lake Renewal’s record of success in creating a waterfront wharf, beautifying the downtown, and developing the former Green Lake County courthouse into the vibrant Town Square Community Center. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2018.

Projects and programs of Green Lake Renewal, 501(c)3 non-profit organization, are made possible by the generous support of the Green Lake area community. Green Lake Renewal operates the Town Square Community Center, Green Lake Kitchens and Green Lake Fitness 24/7. For further information, call 920-807-0008 or visit www.greenlakerenewal.org.
