Boys & Girls Club (Green Lake Site) October Highlights

October is a busy month for the Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area’s Green Lake site at Town Square Community Center. Check out what is going on this month at the Club.

“Coats for Kids” Drive

From October 2-17, Town Square Community Center will be one of the official drop-off locations for the annual Boys & Girls Club “Coats for Kids” drive. Each year, the Club gathers new and gently used coats for children in need in our community. They are in need of coats size 6 Youth to adult XL.

“With families struggling this year due to additional barriers during the pandemic, we are predicting an increase of need for our local youth,’ says Ashley Bartol, Special Events and Marketing Manager of the Boys & Girls Club. “We will be collecting and encouraging new coat donations this year to help lessen the cleaning of coats.”

However, if you have gently used coats to donate, the Club is lucky to have a generous donor that has put them in contact with a dry cleaning partner this year. This will enable them to clean/sanitize those coats to distribute to the kids.

Help prevent children from facing the cold this winter and donate new or gently used coats today! You can drop off your donations at the Town Square Community Center during business hours, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. A container will be  located at the entrance of the lobby for your convenience.

Also, the drop-off date was extended for the Coats for Kids drive at the Town Square Community Center location so that you may bring your donation with you to the community center’s open house scheduled for October 17, 5-7 p.m. See you there!

Trunk or Treat - MONSTER DASH! - Unfortunately, this event has been canceled.

Volunteer businesses and organizations will host decorated trunks to hand out candy to the kids trick or treating using a candy chute or distribution table.  All cars will be lined up on the northside of Town Square Community Center near the Club entrance.

This spooktacular event will be fun, but the community is asked to socially distance and wear masks to help keep everyone safe. For more event and contact information, visit the official Trunk or Treat webpage
