NEW! Workshops for Poets and Creative Writers of All Ages

Looking for new and creative ways to satisfy your evenings this winter? Marshall Gardner is excited about connecting with community members and teaching the craft of poetry writing!

Marshall, who will also be our featured lobby artist in March, is a trained sculptor, poet, and philosopher. Born in Ohio and educated in Brooklyn, New York, he now lives and works just down the road at Avrom Farm in Green Lake. The importance of art and poetry in his life makes him deeply glad for the opportunity to teach.

Marshall will have two types of workshops available for all ages:

Virtual Live Event: Poet's Workshop for Teens to Adults: Have you ever wanted to write and/or read poetry? Learn how to express yourself through writing! This bi-weekly, Wednesday evening workshop via Zoom is for those interested in writing their own poetry and learning to read and analyze the poetry of others. This class is open to teens and adults with a one-time fee of $15 per person.

The group workshop format creates a space within Zoom in which anyone, regardless of experience, can learn and collaborate. Classes will include discussion and instruction in addition to workshop time.

Class Dates and Times:
January, 6 and 20, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
February, 3 and 17, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
March, 3 and 17, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Class Format: Zoom

Children's Poetry and Image Workshop:

Does your child have a gift of storytelling? Are they looking for a creative outlet? This in-person, hands-on poetry and art workshop for children is a Thursday evening, socially-distanced class, March 4-25, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. with a one-time fee of $20 per child for all four classes. These are open to any school-aged children. Children possess abundant creativity, which often defies classification. By combining text and illustrations, entire artistic worlds open up. The class will be fun, challenging, and educational.

Class Dates and Times:
March 4, 11, 18, and 25, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Class Format: In-person

*All programs and events are subject to change.
