Dick Folse: February 2025

 

Artist Dick Folse’s work will grace the Town Square Lobby Gallery walls during February. The gallery, located in the front lobby of Town Square Community Center at 492 Hill St, Green Lake, WI, welcomes visitors Monday through Friday from 9 am - 5 pm and Saturday from 9 am - 1 pm.

Hailing from Ripon, WI, Folse produces original oil and watercolor paintings of the Ceresco Prairie near his home and the Green Lake area. 

“We’re thrilled to have Dick Folse’s beautiful art on display in the front lobby,” Operations Manager Tami Doering, remarked.  “His original works add such a warmth to the area.”

He earned his Master of Fine Arts from Illinois State University in 1990, where he studied studio art with notable landscape painters James D. Butler, Harold Gregor, and Ken Holder, and had a lengthy internship with painter James McGarrell. He has taught art at Bradley University, Illinois State University, and Illinois Wesleyan University.

Folse has traveled extensively and worked on plein air painting. He won the Award of Excellence at the 2024 Green Lake Fine Art Show and has exhibited nationally and internationally. He founded and is the President of the award-winning group, Art MidWisconsin.
