Pat Ehrenberg
November Lobby Artist
More than 35 years of quilting experience and a passion for preserving traditional craftsmanship will be on display at Town Square Community Center this November as local artist Pat Ehrenberg returns to the Lobby Gallery. Her handcrafted quilts will be featured throughout the month at 492 Hill Street in downtown Green Lake. The exhibition is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Known to many as Green Lake's "Original Quilt Lady," Ehrenberg has spent decades creating quilts that celebrate the artistry and tradition of quilting. Her work has reached audiences far beyond Wisconsin, including appearances at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, D.C., and the People's Day Festival in Chiba, Japan.
“I truly love what I do,” Ehrenberg said. “Quilting has such a rich history, and I love knowing that I’m a part of that and able to share it with others.”
In addition to creating her own pieces, Ehrenberg has spent more than three decades teaching traditional quilting techniques to people of all ages. Through her work and instruction, she has helped keep the craft alive while encouraging others to discover the creativity and history behind each quilt.
Ehrenberg is also a familiar face at Town Square, regularly sharing her creations at the Summer Market, Holiday Market and Green Lake Fine Art Show. Her November exhibition continues a longstanding connection with the community center and offers visitors another opportunity to appreciate her craftsmanship.
The exhibition is part of Town Square's rotating Lobby Gallery program, which highlights the talents of local and regional artists throughout the year. Visitors are encouraged to stop by during November to explore Ehrenberg's quilts and experience a traditional art form with deep cultural roots.
