Art Midwisconsin hosts these Foundational Artist Workshops at Town Square, which introduce art medias and methods for beginning and intermediately trained artists. Discover core methods and approaches, sharpen existing skills, and be inspired by examples and demonstrations from experienced teaching artists. These hands-on workshops provide a positive environment to begin and advance your artistic journey.

Intro to Painting with Oils
When: Wednesday, May 7, 6 pm – 9 pm (3 Hours)
Cost: $60
Level: Beginning to Intermediate
Instructor: Angel Rettler
Join us for a one-session hands-on overview of painting with acrylics. Perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike, this workshop will review paint choices, application methods, types of material structures, and general design principles. Participants will leave with a painting they have created to show friends and family. No prior experience required—just a passion to paint!

This “Creating Your Own Masterpiece with Acrylics” workshop invites novice and experienced painters to work through material options, approaches, and processes for composition development and planning in order to achieve desired goals for a finished painting. All aspects of painting in acrylic mediums will be explored. The foundation of the workshop will be to help participants discover “why they create” and “how to bring joy” to their daily lives. Join us for a one-session overview of painting with watercolors that will help you get started. Learn about papers and materials that can make painting easier and your artwork a success. We’ll explore techniques, talk about the basic elements of art, and engage in hands-on projects and exercises. Watercolor Painting I

Watercolor is a beautiful medium that can be made simple with the right materials and approaches.
