June 2025
Town Square Lobby Gallery
Town Square Community Center is delighted to feature the work of Rachel Kmecheck throughout the month of June in our lobby gallery. As the artist behind Modern Medieval Press, Rachel’s passion for medieval imagery and traditional printmaking techniques brought a unique and immersive experience to visitors.
Rachel’s creative journey is deeply inspired by her fascination with the art and architecture of the medieval period. From early exposure to Renaissance fairs and historical films to an influential study-abroad experience in Ireland, her artistic path has been richly informed by ornate stained glass, decorative encaustic tiles, and centuries-old craftsmanship. Her medium of choice, intaglio printmaking, is a centuries-old process that aligns perfectly with her passion for detail and historical reverence. Each print is created through a time-intensive process of plate etching, inking, and careful pressing — often with additional touches of watercolor resulting in intricate works that echo the splendor of the past.
Kmecheck’s pieces draw viewers into a visual dialogue between the ancient and the modern, rendered with extraordinary care and technique. Whether seen up close or from across the room, each piece invites a deeper appreciation of craftsmanship and story.
Town Square Community Center is proud to provide free public art exhibits that showcase the talents of regional artists in our lobby gallery each month.
