Watercolor is a versatile medium that allows the young artist a range of expression while also allowing for experimentation while learning basic techniques.
This series is composed of three classes that are designed to give participants a better understanding of techniques that are used to make watercolor paintings. Classes will be taught by the talented professional Faye Barber-Schmuhl. Individual needs will be addressed.
Includes all of the materials
Wednesday, June 13 | Watercolor Basics
Students will work with basic watercolor techniques and create three paintings employing these techniques.: A triptych, an imaginary landscape, and one of their own choice.
Thursday, June 14 | Creative Self Portraits
Self portraits will be created by working with a selfie taken on your phone, printed and used to create a one of a kind painting. This Instructor will ask you to please email your photos to her before the first class. Values, proportions, and background will be stressed along with creativity and just plain fun. Some optional collage techniques will be demonstrated. Bring your song suggestions so we can listen to music while we paint!
Friday, June 15 | Paint en Plein Air
Watercolor Landscapes will be created outdoors (we may move indoors depending on the weather). Perspective, color theory and composition will be stressed. Bring comfy clothes!
Don't forget to bring your IDEAS and CREATIVITY. Let's have fun!
