Innovation consultant Mike Maddock, in his keynote address at Green Lake Renewal’s Entrepreneur of the Year Awards on April 26, will show Green Lake area businesspeople how to use disruptive tactics employed by business luminaries including Elon Musk, Oprah Winfrey and Walt Disney. His just-published book, “Plan D: Lessons from the World’s Most Successful Disruptors,” demonstrates how agility, speed and curiosity are now more important than size, and shows what the best disruptors have in common.

“Companies can no longer grow their way into long-term security,” said Maddock. “So today, leaders must have disruptors on their teams or become one themselves. You need to know how to get the most out of the “Crazy Ones” in your organization.”

A bestselling author and frequent Forbes contributor, Maddock is the CEO and founding partner of Maddock Douglas, a consulting firm that has helped more than 25 percent of the Fortune 100 companies to design and launch new products, services and business models. He is a Green Lake homeowner and has served on the board of the Green Lake Association.

“Mike is a real powerhouse and in demand as an inspirational speaker nationwide,” said Fran Hill, president of Green Lake Renewal’s board of directors. “We are so lucky to have him as part of our community, and you are sure to leave this event reenergized about the future of your business.”

Green Lake Renewal’s Entrepreneur of the Year Awards event, now in its second year, honors the Green Lake area’s most inspirational entrepreneurs. This year’s awardees, John and Jennifer Meiborg of Shoreline Boat Center and Matt Trotter of Horseradish Kitchen + Market will be recognized for growing successful businesses that also give back to the community. The event will be held at the Town Square Community Center on Friday, April 26, from 7:30 to 9:00 am. Breakfast, catered by Crossroads Market, is included in the admission price of $15 per person. Reservations can be made online at www.greenlakerenewal.org, by calling 920-807-0008 or by stopping by Town Square at 492 Hill Street in Green Lake.

Like all Town Square programs, this event is made possible by the generous supporters of the 501(c)3 community revitalization organization Green Lake Renewal.
