GREEN LAKE FITNESS
Because of you, our small town can offer a fully-equipped, 24-hour fitness center, right in the center of town, for the super-affordable price of just $15 per month. With its high ceilings, piles of natural light and equipment including everything from treadmills to steppers, ellipticals to rowing machines, plus a full variety of weights, this has become the go-to spot for residents and visitors alike. How great are you to have done this? Pretty great!
CLASSES
There’s nothing like the community to inspire you to keep going. And YOU are making this happen…through an ongoing, wide variety of classes for people of all ages and abilities.
Hatha Yoga Including a blend of breathwork, warm-up, active asanas, and a cool-down followed by a meditative savasana to close your practice.
Chair Yoga: Improving flexibility, muscle tone, mental well-being, concentration, strength, mood, stress and joint pain, focus, and confidence. This practice is good for those with limited mobility, seniors, people who work at desks, and beginners.
Rhythm and Wellness A dance therapy program designed to boost your physical fitness, lift your spirits, and clear your mind. These dynamic sessions combine high-energy dance styles like salsa, zumba, etc. with moments of mindfulness, relaxation, and emotional expression.
WELLNESS CHALLENGES
And then there’s competition. You’re keeping it fun, helping people track their progress and reach their goals. 2024 programs included:
Wellness Challenge: An eight-week challenge, encouraging participants to work out, eat healthy, make healthy choices and improve overall health.
Bingo Challenge: Super fun. Using a bingo card, players checked off boxes, each with a different daily goal, such as taking a 30-minute walk, eating lunch outside, doing three different exercises, 20-minutes of rowing, etc.
Step Challenge: In November and December, inspiring people to stay healthy and active during the busy and food-filled holiday season. Participants logged more than 3.2 million steps. Whew!
COMMUNITY GROUPS AND EVENTS
From information to inspiration, you’re getting us together for a healthier community.
Blood Drives: Held in conjunction with the American Red Cross, Town Square hosted three “sold out” blood drives in 2024, with seven planned for 2025.
Health and Wellness Fair: Created in collaboration with the Green Lake County Aging and Disabilities Resource Center, this event attracted more than 200 people, providing inspiration and information in a fun environment, with health-related vendors, keynote speakers, food and live music.
Snow Ball: This get-up-and-go, danceworthy December event, designed to get seniors moving and mingling, and held in association with the Aging and Disabilities Resource Center, featured a great DJ, photo booth, and festive food, and attracted more than 50 people.
Green Lake Half Marathon: Fostering a sense of community while promoting health, wellness, and an active lifestyle through running and walking, in 2024, the annual event welcomed more than 400 runners and walkers, a 14% increase from 2023, with participants hailed from 19 states and 24 counties across Wisconsin,
LIFE CHALLENGES
AA and Al-Anon Twice weekly, 12-Step Recovery meetings..
Caregivers Support Group providing mutual support, ideas, and understanding in a caring and confidential environment. Open to anyone caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
Christine Ann Center For individuals struggling with issues of domestic abuse.
