Four-Week Stained Glass Workshop Back by Popular Demand
Back by popular demand, artist Donna Marquart will be teaching a series of stained glass art classes on Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. beginning September 4, 2018 through September 25, 2018 at Town Square Community Center in Green Lake. Participants of all skill levels can sign up for the four-week session for $100 per person, which includes most materials.
Distinguished Artist Melissa Dorn Richards to Offer One-Day Workshop at Town Square
Renowned artist Melissa Dorn Richards will be in Green Lake to share with participants the approach to her iconic blend of humor and abstract art at a one-day, all-day workshop on Saturday, August 11 from 10 am - 2 pm. The workshop is open to participants ages 16 and up and the registration fee of $90 includes a paint set, brush set, canvas and palette pad. Students are asked to bring their own sketchbook and colored pencils.
Professional Development Workshop for Artists with Frank Juarez
This day-long program is aimed to assist emerging and established artists in creating a pathway to success. The workshop will cover topics on self- promotion, effective use of social media strategies, understanding the art market, strategic planning, and balancing studio time with business of art practices.
Artist Pat Dobrinska to Showcase New Work at Town Square
Award-winning artist Pat Dobrinska is set to unveil her latest illustrations from her upcoming book Home is Forever on Friday, July 6 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Town Square Lobby Gallery. The opening reception is free and open to the public. The show will be on display through the month of July.
Fond du Lac Artist Faye Barber-Schmuhl to Offer Acrylic Painting Workshop at Town Square
Local Artist Faye Barber-Schmuhl will be demonstrating her liquid acrylic techniques at a one-day workshop in Town Square Community Center. The workshop will be held on Saturday, June 23 from 10 am to 3 pm. Cost of registration is $75 and is limited to ten people. Participants may sign up online at www.greenlakerenewal.org/.
Green Lake's Freeland Film Festival Uses Power of Storytelling as a Weapon of Change
Over 50 new documentaries will be screened across 3 days, Friday, June 15 thru Sunday, June 17, attracting local and international audiences to Green Lake, WI. They are the stories of vulnerable people, wildlife and ecosystems that are making a comeback, against extraordinary odds. Many films are already gaining attention on the awards circuit, some tipped as serious Oscar and BAFTA contenders. More importantly, the films are inspiring positive changes in public behavior and in political and corporate decisions that are leading to recoveries of endangered wildlife, vulnerable communities, and ecosystems.
Elizabeth Kazda Exhibit on Display at Town Square
Local artist Elizabeth Kazda will unveil her spectral light photography on Friday, June 1 with a reception from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at Town Square Community Center’s lobby gallery. The exhibit, including several pieces available for purchase, will be on display through June 30.

Freeland Film Festival Announce Opening Film
In her film “The Last Animals,” photographer turned filmmaker Kate Brooks traces the deadly trade of illegally poached rhino horn and elephant ivory across four continents, traveling from protected areas in Africa to wildlife markets in Asia and North America in order to illustrate the complex web of global consumer demand, transnational criminal syndicates and the local conflicts and political problems that contribute to the current poaching epidemic. Along the way, Brooks also meets with investigators, scientists, zookeepers and rangers engaged in an all-too-often life threatening struggle to preserve the last remaining elephants and rhinos.
Paint a Self(ie)-Portrait in the Style of the Greats
Great Selfies, the hands-on painting and learning series, will meet on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Town Square and feature a different artist each week
Award-Winning Quilter Pat Ehrenberg to Showcase at Town Square
Exhibiting at Town Square for the third year, Ehrenberg has been an avid quilter for more than 30 years. Her art work has been featured throughout the world, from the Smithsonian Folk Life Festival in Washington, DC to the People’s Day Festival in Chiba, Japan.
Figure Drawing Classes at Town Square
The classes, designed for those interested in working on their observational drawing skills, will be held weekly for six weeks. Classes are uninstructed, but moderated and open to artists of all skill levels. Participants provide their own drawing materials and must be at least 18 years of age.
