BOYS & GIRLS CLUB MENTORING PROGRAM AT TOWN SQUARE LOCATION

At Town Square, we’re always thinking about the future of our community. And who is going to take on the future? Our kids, of course! We love them today, and we’ll be so proud of them as they lead Green Lake into the next generation and beyond.

This week, the Boys & Girls Club at Town Square continues to make that happen. While the full Club operation at Town Square has been postponed until fall, the Club’s mentoring program, in its second year, is starting NOW as restrictions lift. Matching adults with children needing guidance or a positive role model in their lives, Boys & Girls Club mentoring makes a real difference. Mentors often assist with homework (if needed) and participate in different activities geared at gaining trust and encouraging the youth open up to build and strengthen that relationship. Kids in the program are either identified by the school or Club staff as children who could benefit from the program, or sometimes, their parent/guardian will request they become a part of it..

“We are really excited to get our fall program up and running in Green Lake, and look forward to an amazing partnership,” said Ashley Bartol, Special Events and Marketing Manager. “During the school year our Green Lake site at Town Square Community Center will be open to any child in the area, but we foresee mostly Green Lake children because of its proximity to the school and location directly in town.  We will be running programs that focus on character/leadership, academic success (education and the arts), sports/recreation, and health/wellness with our main goal of improving the lives of children and their families.”
