Meet the Presenter of two programs in 2021: Chris Henry
Chris Henry is the Program Manager at the EAA Aviation Museum in Oshkosh, WI. Chris has been working in aviation since he was in 12 years old when he first started volunteering at the local air museum. In the course of his work, he has been closely involved with the B-17 program for the B-17 “Aluminum Overcast”. He has worked to reconnect the veterans who once crewed the bomber.

We at Town Square got to talking with Chris with some questions about himself and what new and unique events he will bring to Town Square!
Why is sharing aviation history stories are important to you?
“Because of the amazing people interweaved into aviation’s history. These are people truly worth studying and getting to know more about. They pushed barriers not just in the air but many times on the ground, moving forward science, society, and making aviation accessible to everyone. ”
How did you get into building plastic models, and why that’s valuable to you?.
“I got into building plastic models as a kid. Going to the toy store soon saw me move away from buying toys to model kits. It has helped me as I better understand the design features of aircraft and also the stories behind the different paint jobs they carry”
What will people learn from your presentation(s) this year regarding model building and the Enola Gay talk?
“I hope people take away new facts that help clear up some myths about the atomic bomb missions. With the model talk I hope folks come away with a feeling that they too can take on building a model of their favorite plane, car, or whatever their interest lies. Also, that building models is something that has led to many of our aviation greats becoming interested in flying. ”
How will you try to bring your love of aviation to Town Square?
“My love of aviation will come through naturally as we have these discussions. My presentation style is relaxed and for people enjoying the day just sitting, talking about flying. ”
