Luvin that Lobby

In the spirit of the times, your community center volunteers have jumped onto the home improvement bandwagon with a Town Square lobby refresh! And you are going to love it... Guaranteed.

There is nothing like a pandemic to get you looking around your house and thinking, “This joint could use some help.” Sofas were once hidden behind the bodies of visitors and friends... now show their age. Tables formerly covered with dinner party dishes... call you to you for help. Walls that you rushed past on your way in or out... seem to suddenly look drab.

It’s the same here at Town Square. In a typical year, with so many thousands of people running in and out, you can forget that the last time you painted the lobby was almost nine years ago. Or your plan to frame pictures and create a donor and volunteer wall kept getting postponed because there was SO MUCH GOING ON RIGHT AT THAT VERY MOMENT.

As with all Town Square projects, it’s starting small with high-hopes for even more and bigger improvements in the future. Stay tuned on this one because the fun has just begun!

Thank you to our hardworking volunteers--Dwayne Clary, Dale and Ginny Wszalek, Larry Gundrum, and Dan Hill for spending two Sundays patching and painting.  And sending enormous gratitude to Ace Hardware for donating paint, and Joe and Darlene Holik and Town Square Board Member Amy Arnetviet for their vision.

Mark your calendar for June 5, when Town Square opens its doors for a fun-filled, family-friendly open house with even more brand new spaces to see. Since the last time the lobby was painted in 2012, we’ve come a long way, baby (as the saying goes).
