Fun, friends, and food...what kid doesn't like that? In this three-day cooking camp, kids 9-12 years old will get hands-on experience and enjoy their creations. Recipes will be age-appropriate with enough challenge — so they learn new skills and yet aren’t overwhelmed. The goal is to have fun while learning the joy of cooking delicious dishes for their families. The kids will work in teams to create their culinary masterpieces. Collaboration and teamwork will be emphasized. Each participant will be able to bring some goodies home (if they haven't eaten it all!).
They will learn safe kitchen practices, work with fractions (measuring), learn to handle baking and cooking tools, and gain cooking confidence.
Kids in the Kitchen instructor, Joan Lloyd, is a long-time Green Lake resident and volunteer ambassador for Town Square Community Center. She is an avid cook and loves sharing her passion. Recently retired from her career as an author, television personality, corporate officer, and management consultant, Joan is now using her talents and business savvy to find ways to bring vibrancy to her beloved Green Lake community.
All programs and events are subject to change.
