Paint the Town Red for Kids!

Join more than 100 walkers who are expected to gather on Mill Pond Terrace on Saturday, May 28 to raise funds that support free children’s programs at Town Square!

Presented by Platinum Sponsor Aither State Farm Agency, the second annual Paint the Town Red 5K is a rain or shine family-friendly, all ages and abilities walk that inspires camaraderie and family togetherness. 

“Supporting families is a cornerstone of Town Square’s mission,” said Fran Hill, executive director. “Pledges secured for Paint the Town Red will help make it possible for us to offer robust programming for kids and families and, much of it, for free.” 

Dress in your wackiest walking attire for a chance to win the coveted Best Dressed trophy. Dogs are invited to participate and dress up too for their own shot at a trophy in the canine category. 

New this year, groups and individuals can secure pledges online by creating a personalized fundraising page! The team and individual who secures the most pledges will win a spectacular (and perhaps a little silly) trophy. Visit greenlaketownsquare.org to set up your page.

Paint the Town Red’s 5K route was developed in partnership with the Dartford Historical Society and includes stops at significant historical spots in honor of Green Lake’s 175th anniversary and Town Square’s 10th, both in 2022.

Race day registration begins at 8 a.m. and the walk commences at 9 a.m. Carol Skivington of Free Spirit Yoga will lead a pre-walk yoga warm-up. Participants will return to Mill Pond Terrace at 10:30 a.m. for the awards ceremony. Dog-friendly Town Square Tap will be open after the walk for participants to enjoy music and beverages. Live music will be provided by local favorite Peter Brush.

Entry fees are $25 for adults, $15 for children ages 6-17 and free for children under age 6. Virtual participation fee is $15. To register and create a personalized fundraising page, visit greenlaketownsquare.org.
