The Green Lake Show: S1 Ep2
Live from Town Square, it's The Green Lake Show! You are invited to be part of the live studio audience during the second taping of Town Square Community Center’s popular Green Lake Show on Saturday, April 16. Doors and the Jury Room Bar open at 4 p.m. The show starts at 5 p.m. in Town Square’s ballroom and will conclude at 6:15 p.m.
The variety show, which is free to attend, is hosted by Executive Director Fran Hill and Jennifer Aither, owner of Aither State Farm Agency and Town Square Platinum Sponsor. The show is modeled after late-night talk shows and features special guest interviews, musical interludes, audience interaction and lots of wacky banter from Green Lake's cast of characters.
“This month’s show is going to be absolutely spectacular,” Hill said. “Guests will be able to see real live fossils, get the scoop on upcoming events like Paint the Town Red 5K and Bird Fest, and even try a yoga pose or two.”
April’s Green Lake Show guests are: Dr. Joseph Fredrickson, director of the Weis Earth Science Museum at UW-Oshkosh, with a fossil preview of the museum’s Dino Daze exhibit; Farm market entrepreneurs and local favorites David and Nicholas Oft will share their market goods; Carol Skivington, owner of Free Spirit Yoga, will demonstrate yoga poses with audience participation; Larry Behlen of the Dartford Historical Society will discuss historical spots highlighted along the Paint the Town Red 5K route on May 28; Tom and Wendy Schultz, founders of the Green Lake Bird and Nature Club, will preview Bird Fest on April 29 and 30.
The Green Lake Show held its first live taping in January to rave reviews. Brandon native and guitarist/singer Ted Otto, who performs locally as Buck Fifty, will return as the house musician. Otto will perform his original Green Lake theme song as well as other musical interludes.
Concessions including alcoholic beverages, soda and snacks will be available in the Jury Room Bar.
Green Lake Show clips are posted after the show to Town Square’s YouTube channel and shared on the organization’s website and Facebook page. Upcoming Green Lake Show dates are July 9 and October 15.
