Raising a New Generation

Everywhere you look, it’s a major topic of discussion. How can we get kids off the screens and engage them in social, fun, creative and learning activities. Can it ever be done? Well….YES!  Here’s what you’re doing in our community…

THE MAIN EVENT: DINO DAZE

This super-fun, family-friendly, interactive-learning, hands-on summer event features a Traveling Snake Show (Eeek!), storytime, an interactive dinosaur exhibit, face painting, rock painting, dino fishing, firetruck food truck and dino excavation, attracting families from the Green Lake area and beyond.

CAMPS FOR KIDS

Art Camp: Held during the week preceding the Green Lake Fine Art Show, a four-day creative camp, where kids learned to paint, make paper, create decoupage and more with a Friday gallery showing of their work.

Broadway Music Camp: Kids learn to sing and choreograph four songs from Broadway show hits, plus learn about stage presence, costuming and performing, all culminating in a fun musical revue for the public on the last day.

Kids in the Kitchen: Teambuilding, learning, creativity, fun and new friends. This annual camp with its hands-on, guided kitchen experience, provides kids with confidence, knowledge, skills and delicious dishes to bring home to their families.

CLASSES AND PROGRAMS

Spring into Summer Kids Cooking Class: An after-school program, with kids learning how to make dishes simple enough to prepare themselves.

Art Lab: A drop-in, guided, creative project event, held on Fridays during July and August,

Homeschool Group: Homeschoolers joined at Town Square for a social and learning chocolate-making experience, with more group activities being planned for 2025.

SPECIAL SPACES

Makerspace: Designed for kids and families, this drop-in work space offers tools and inspiration for all kinds of creative, hands-on projects. Fully stocked with paints, papers, wood pieces, markers, crayons, beads and much more.

The Hub: Filled with playtime fun for the younger set, this delightful playroom provides hours of entertainment for families with young children. Play with legos and dolls, camp out in a tent, read books, sell “ice cream” at the counter…and more.

Yep. There’s more to the world than social media and video games!
