Birds and Brews: A Birdwatching Social to Kick-Off Bird Fest

Calling all Bird and Nature Lovers!

Mark your calendars so you don’t miss the KICK-OFF to the 2018 Green Lake Bird Festival: the ALWAYS popular birdwatching social venue called “BIRDS and BREWS”. This event is designed to give area birdwatchers an opportunity to invite their NON-BIRDWATCHING pals to come and socialize over their favorite subject matter—all while enjoying their favorite beverage, be it beer, wine or soda. Also available will be snacks of various types. “BIRDS and BREWS” is a great way to relax over the fastest growing sport—BIRDWATCHING!

If you are interested in the Green Lake Bird Festival, or curious about the Green Lake Bird and Nature Club, plan to join fellow bird enthusiasts in the Town Square lobby on Friday evening, April 27th from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Catch the last minute details about Saturday’s Bird Festival. Get the “sneak peek” preview of the birds one could expect to find during the scheduled early Saturday morning bird walk through Sunnyside Conservancy. Enjoy a variety of “brews” (root beer included) and discussion about bird and nature related activities that occur in the area. Learn about the Green Lake Bird and Nature Club and meet some of the members. Participate in a fun mixer—you might learn a little about birding, America’s fastest growing hobby.

As an ADDED ATTRACTION this year, our Birds and Brews event will wrap up with a special opportunity – a PREVIEW of the very exciting FREELAND FILM FESTIVAL, which is coming to Green Lake this summer (June 15 – 17)! Rich Christian will be on hand to share this exciting information with everyone and also show trailers from a few of the many films that are going to be presented at the festival. These films will have a wildlife and conservation theme and should be of great interest to everyone. This special preview will take place toward the end of our Birds and Brews -- right up the stairs in the Town Square Ballroom (former courtroom).

This BIRDS and BREWS event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Also on display will be several paintings by professional wildlife artist THOMAS SCHULTZ, featuring his favorite subject—BIRDS.

Programs at the Town Square community center are made possible by generous donors of the nonprofit revitalization organization Green Lake Renewal. Town Square is located at 492 Hill Street in Green Lake. For further information call 920-807-0008 or visit www.greenlakerenewal.org
