Photographer Kathy Sletten has a great eye for photo composition. In this class, she will share useful tips and practical techniques that will help you compose and capture a great photo. Kathy will be answering questions such as:

  • “What makes a good image?”

  • “How to ‘see’ images”

  • “Where to find inspiration?”

 

About Kathy Sletten

Kathleen Sletten is an accomplished, award-winning photographer specializing in fine art and abstract photography as well as nature and landscape. She is the author of "Roadside Photography: Getting Great Pictures on the Beaten Path", and has had her work published in photo journals and exhibited in several venues.

Kathleen's grandfather, Raymond J. Spies was a well-known and international award winning photographer, judge, and president of the North Shore and Chicago Camera Clubs. After he passed away, Kathleen continued working with his darkroom equipment, as well as taking all available photography classes (all film) during college.

After obtaining bachelor's and master's degrees in Organizational Psychology, she worked for over 25 years as a Human Resources Executive in large manufacturing companies. Digital technology brought a new enthusiasm and "retirement" has brought more time for following her passion. Kathleen is an active member and teacher in multiple camera clubs.
