“One Man’s 2022 Challenge to BIRD in Wisconsin’s 72 Counties...”
With New Year’s Day just around the corner and your annual resolution of losing 10 pounds no longer cutting the mustard, why not do something FUN like explore every county in the beautiful state of Wisconsin?
The Green Lake Bird and Nature Club will be hosting a SPECIAL PRESENTATION next Tuesday evening November 14th at 6pm and you can find out exactly HOW to plan out such a goal when guest speaker Kyle Arpke, a Milwaukee filmmaker, wildlife photographer, writer, and Wisconsin Master Naturalist will share his remarkable story of traversing America’s Dairyland in 2022. Inspired to embark on a statewide birding challenge, he logged eBird checklists in every single one of Wisconsin's 72 counties and described these adventures in his reoccurring column for the online publication Milwaukee Record.
During his presentation, Kyle will discuss how the challenge came to be, share his stunning images, and encourage others to go off and explore Wisconsin's many natural wonders. Whether you do it all in a year, or take a few counties at a time, plan to be inspired!
This program will take place in the CLUB ROOM at the back of Town Square in downtown Green Lake (492 Hill Street) and will be FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Enter at the rear of the building, from off Water Street. There is ample parking near the doorway, with the room being wheelchair accessible. Bring a snack to share if you wish, beverages will be available for purchase.
The Green Lake Bird and Nature Club meets every second Tuesday of the month, from September through May. We welcome anyone with an interest in birds and nature.
