Courtside Comedy brings you a night of stand-up packed with big laughs, sharp wit, and punchlines that hit harder than a buzzer-beater. No brackets required—just grab a seat and enjoy comedy that’s fast, funny, and full-court entertaining.
Your host Joanie Scannell returns to Town Square to keep the laughs moving, joined by feature comedian Dame Grant and headliner Andy Hendrickson, delivering a lineup worthy of a championship night.
Think March Madness… but with better jokes and fewer whistles.

🎤 Andy Hendrickson – Headliner Comedian
Andy Hendrickson is a comedian and writer who built his career in New York City and now resides in Los Angeles. With over 20 years on stage, his clever, conversational style and laid-back charm effortlessly highlight the absurdities of everyday life. Described by one reviewer as “the exasperated guy next door,” Andy has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Late Show on CBS, and has two Dry Bar Comedy specials available online.
🎤 Dame Grant – Feature Comedian
Dame Grant is a comedian, actor, and writer who has performed at clubs across the country. He can be seen on The Onion News Network, in national commercials, and recently made his network television debut on Chicago Fire. Dame is also the host of the podcast The Broke Stops Here, bringing sharp observations and big laughs to every stage he steps on.
🎤 Joanie Scannell –Host & Comedian
Joanie Scannell, also known as GI Joanie, is a nurse by day and comedian by night—proof that patience, humor, and caffeine (or booze, when appropriate) are essential for both. With over 33 years in nursing, including 20 years in gastroenterology, she brings sharp, sarcastic humor inspired by life’s most uncomfortable moments. Known for her quick wit and fearless style, Joanie regularly hosts and performs at Town Square in Green Lake and at The Comedy Plex.
