Mill Pond Terrace Donor Update | Fall 2018

Dear donors,

I want to thank you all for supporting this transformative endeavor. After the project was announced at the 2017 White Hot Party, your generosity has been key in making yet another dramatic, positive change to Green Lake. Here's a short overview to show how much we have progressed together:

  • Summer '17: Introduced project and launched fundraising. Raised: $164,675

  • Winter '17: Developed final plan for project and secured contractors

  • May '18: Mill Pond Terrace Breaks Ground

  • July '18: Second phase of fundraising adds $95,000+ to project fund

  • Summer '18: Completed initial excavation. Decommissioned well and removed pump house. Rerouted electrical wires, removed overhead wiring and telephone poles, and buried phone lines. Completed concrete retaining wall adjacent to new handicap parking area. Excavated for electrical and plumbing to support lighting and power on the upper and lower level. Excavated, graded and poured concrete for the dumpster pad near the fitness center entrance. Excavated for the sidewalk to the Mill Street entrance.

  • Late Summer ' 18: Completed concrete retaining wall between upper and lower level, including circular wall defining central gathering area overlooking the Mill Pond.

  • Fall '18: Add piping for water and electricity throughout the project, pour all surfaces, decorative concrete, create stairs and railing to wrap around circular overlook.

  • Early Spring '19: Add lighting, landscaping, and plantings.

  • Spring '19: Mill Pond Terrace opens!

Thanks to your generosity, Mill Pond Terrace will provide downtown Green Lake with an event-ready venue, featuring flexible paved and landscaped spaces, mobile furnishings and a circular overlook, all overlooking the Mill Pond’s waterfalls and Playground Park. The new space will also provide event caterers and entrepreneurs direct, convenient access to Town Square’s certified commercial kitchen located inside Town Square.

Thank you all again for your support. Let’s keep the momentum going!
