Mill Pond Terrace and Town Square Tap are set to open this summer on Tuesday, July 2.

Town Square Tap, operated by Genuine Beverages, the producer of Fox Tale Genuine Craft Ginger Beer, will open this summer at Mill Pond Terrace, the new outdoor event venue overlooking the Dartford Mill Pond on the north side of Town Square. The taproom space will be located in the former Town Square garage and adjacent areas, being renovated this spring in conjunction with Mill Pond Terrace.

Genuine Beverages owner Zach Frazier has been producing his popular ginger beer in the Green Lake Kitchens culinary business incubator at Town Square for the past year. “We have been actively looking for a taproom to feature our product,” said Frazier, “and when we started learning more about Mill Pond Terrace and Town Square’s vision for the space, we felt that this was the perfect match. We couldn’t be more excited about this amazing opportunity.”

Mill Pond Terrace, which began construction last summer, is slated for completion by early summer 2019. The project, which was made possible by more than $250,000 in private donations by community members, will transform the tired and underused parking lots to the north of the Town Square community center into a paved and landscaped multi-functional event space.

Zach Frazier’s company, Genuine Beverages, will operate the new Town Square Tap.

Renovations for Town Square Tap include converting the Town Square garage into a modern-industrial-type space with glass garage doors and seating spilling out onto the Mill Pond Terrace. The taproom will officially open in early July with hours from Thursday through Sunday.

“The addition of Town Square Tap is going to be a fantastic feature of Mill Pond Terrace,” said Fran Hill, president of Green Lake Renewal. “Zach Frazier is dedicated to featuring local products, and he is creating the perfect indoor/outdoor hangout.”

Added Frazier, “We’re going to have lawn games, summer cornhole leagues and tournaments, entertainment, awesome drinks, brewery tours and special events.”

Frazier first created his Fox Tail Genuine Craft Ginger Beer in his own home before moving his operations to Green Lake Kitchens, and he remains the only true brewer of ginger beer using traditional method and ingredients in the Midwest. After opening the taproom, he plans to expand his ginger beer sales through Wisconsin and Illinois.

Town Square is the community center operated by the 501(c)2 non-profit organization, Green Lake Renewal. For further information on Town Square Tap, Mill Pond Terrace or the Town Square Community Center, e mail to info@greenlakerenewal.org or call 920-807-0008.
