Community Collab: Boys & Girls Club
At Town Square, community collaborations are vital to the success of our events and programming. When it comes to engaging our youngest residents, who better to join forces with than the experts at The Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area?
The Town Square team recently sat down with Mindy Collado, director of operations, and Megan Beardsley, Green Lake site coordinator, to discuss partnering on some upcoming kids programs and we can’t wait to share what we have in store!
Here’s a taste of some future collaborations:
Cabin Fever Winter Kids Series: Once a month from January through April, Town Square will host Friday fun nights with themes like Bad Behavior Day and Area 51. Our friends at The Club will be bringing all kinds of fun activities for kids.
Spring Break Camp “In:” During spring break, come to Town Square for some indoor camping! Tents, s’mores, movies and flashlights - school’s out and adventures are IN.
Dog Days of Summer: On August 10, kids can celebrate those last days of summer break at Town Square with dog-themed fun! Read to a therapy dog, munch on puppy chow and teach a dog a trick.
Stay tuned for more information on these and other events in partnership with The Boys & Girls Club.
Town Square has been home to The Boys & Girls Club for the past 18 months, but come November 29, The Club will relocate its Green Lake Site to the Green Lake School.
While we may no longer share a roof with The Club, we continue to share a mission of supporting kids and families in Green Lake. We are pleased to have donated space in our building to help establish a Green Lake site for The Boys & Girls Club.
In a press release, The Club expressed a high level of appreciation for Town Square Community Center and looks forward to continuing its partnership with existing programs as well as new efforts like those mentioned above.
Jason Presto, CEO of The Boys & Girls of the Tri-County Area, is grateful for the support Town Square has offered.
“Their generosity allowed us to serve a number of Green Lake youth and families with high-impact programs while we established our identity within the community,” he said.
Thank you to Town Square supporters and volunteers who helped make a home here for The Club. We can’t wait to continue collaborating with this life-changing organization!
