The Town Square Ballroom was not always as beautiful as it is now. It was once the Green Lake County Courtroom with built-in seating, jury box, and judge’s bench and later got divided with walls and a drop in ceiling that covered the gorgeous tin ceiling. Since Town Square’s inception we called it the ballroom, but it hardly lived up to its name. What it needed was someone with imagination and vision. And with a whatever-it-takes attitude.

That “someone” was Sean and Jo Ellen Madden, who had seen the possibilities and dreamed of restoring the room to its former glory.

Like any construction project on a 120-plus-year-old-building, the building effort was replete with surprises and unexpected challenges. But it was worth it. The new ballroom is a true gem to our community!

Thank you Sean and Jo Ellen for bringing new life back to this our beautiful ballroom!
