IT ALL STARTED WHEN…
The Green Lake Bird Festival started in 2013, when local birding enthusiasts, led by Tom Schultz, sought to earn the designation Bird City Wisconsin for Green Lake. With the addition of the Bird Festival, Green Lake was named Bird City Wisconsin in 2014. The following January, the Green Lake Bird and Nature Club launched, with Town Square Community Center as its home. Meeting from September through May, the club attracts audiences from 60 to 100 to its meetings and presentations. The club frequently hosts field trips to nearby birding destinations and offers special presentations during the summer months. The Green Lake Bird and Nature Club facebook group has nearly 500 members.

Yoga with Carol Skivington
Join us in Studio A Tuesday evenings for Yoga with Carol Skivington at 6:15pm.
Carol teaches from the hatha yoga tradition, and has studied and become certified through Wild Spirit Yoga in Tomball, Texas, with Jennifer Carmack.
Hatha yoga refers to a set of physical exercises (known as asanas or postures), and sequences of asanas, designed to align your skin, muscles, and bones. The postures are also designed to open the many channels of the body—especially the main channel, the spine—so that energy can flow freely. (yogajournal.com)
Carol’s classes incorporate breath work (pranayma), poses (asanas) and meditation with a goal of uniting strength and flexibility. Beginners as well as seasoned yoga students will feel comfortable in my classes. She teaches to all levels and she hopes that you leave her classes refreshed, revived, and more connected to your inner self!
Classes are located in Town Square Community Center’s Studio A (unless noted otherwise). Carol will offer a Zoom link to those who would prefer to do the class from the comfort of their home.

Carol speaks Spanish. She has a degree in sociology with a minor in anthropology. She's been a social worker. A childcare worker. A retail worker. And a full-time mom. Oh, yes. And she cooks.
After growing up in Wooster, Ohio, and Kewaskum and West Bend, Wisconsin, and spending summers in Green Lake...and then living in Green Lake, and then Mexico and then Texas as an adult...Carol is thrilled to be back in Green Lake. It was here in Green Lake that she would swim, water ski and horseback ride as a kid. And it was here in Green that she purchased her family's cottage when her daughter was two and remodeled it into a year-round home. Now, it's here in Green Lake that Carol will launch the next phase of her career....as a real estate agent and, at Town Square, as a YOGA INSTRUCTOR!
