Town Square hosts Cooking Class with Kathy McCarthy

Four Summer Salad Recipes to beat the heat

Town Square Community Center invites all foodies on a hands-on cooking experience with chef Kathy McCarthy to learn how to make the best, and freshest salads of the summer. The class will be held in Town Square’s demo kitchen on Tuesday, August 6 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. 

“I am really looking forward to sharing these delicious, refreshing recipes with you,” said chef McCarthy. “The menu for this demo will include a mango and black bean quinoa salad, a warm corn chowder salad with bacon and cider vinegar, a carrot-and-chickpea salad, and a summer macaroni salad.”

Participants are encouraged to register in advance by visiting www.greenlakerenewal.org/, by calling (920) 807-0008, or in person at Town Square’s front desk. Registration fee of $45 includes all ingredients and space is limited to 20 participants.

Kathy joined the Savory Spoon Cooking School in Door County, WI in 2008 and has created the same delicious treats for the store as well as becoming a cooking instructor for the school, specializing in pasta, confections and brunch treats. After moving to Green Lake in 2014, Kathy began cooking at Town Square’s commercial kitchen, creating menus and hands-on cooking experiences for groups. In 2018, Kathy and her husband, Tom opened the Mill Street Cooking School, offering guests and small groups a personalized cooking experience.
